~Unexpected~

as you
get older,
your dreams
start to change

it seemed
too grandiose
suffocating and strange
problem is,
what seems
great one day
might not
seem great
the next day

so you
got to
get what
you want
to find out
what you
don't want?
ya, something
like that

but don't
get me wrong
unexpected things
can  happen too
something amazing
can fall
into your
life
when you
least expect it

they always
say that
life
gets in
the way
of living

looking contemplatively
down cobblestone
walkways black crows
looking as if
they're on steroids
stand cautiously by
each other
on the wet grass
of morning

searching for
salvation in loneliness
pecking at
crumbled bread
pausing with
turned heads
shifting through
the broken pieces
for what's
whole
