It was a day

Where

Everything was gray

The trees

Looked

like they were melting

Running

Into each other

into each other

like liquid ink

wind

shook
the black leaves

everything smells

so good

like sandalwood

and salty dreams

like something new

just about

to start

where you can hear

water and wind

before you

you

leave me

in the

quiet

lost in thoughts  

and busyness

sometimes

I feel

like I’m losing myself

I'm excited

and a little nervous,

cautiously optimistic
I’d rather light a candle

than curse the darkness
slow down

there is a gap

between my thoughts

where there is still

a sense of wonder

hold onto that

because you can never

get it back

discover the loveliness

of an ordinary moment
you’ve been taken

from pillar to pillar

so that it’s almost bearable

the rosy advice you disperse

with pear shaped tones

because if you haven’t tried

you haven’t lived

I want you to get swept away

I want you to sing like the devil

and dance like a dervish

there is not an ounce of excitement,

a whisper of it thrill
time to
