~Escape~

It had frozen
into an opaque stillness
The watercolor
Leaves
Stained glass
Feathers
Fall
Making
The world
Marbled

Fading into browns and greens
Winding
Onto
One another
In a ribboned
hug

Shiver
With a fading wind
And morning dew
When the time comes
Escape

Our breath
Mingles
And hangs
In the air
In silver
Spirals
Fading
Too soon
Too vague
And disappearing
Too soon
Like
Your words

If you want to see the forest
you have to look past the trees
Learn
to hope
Again

This stone
World
Quiet
And crystalline
Seemed defaced
And all that's left
Is shadows

And a glowing nothingness

~Lace~

It was the kind of night
where the trees
looked like black lace amidst the quiet
In between gray lavender
with a hug of blue

Put on
Another
Pot of tea
It’s the answer
To any problem

Were all passing our time, tap-dancing,
to tell the truth
Maybe if I dance fast enough
I won’t remember what I lost

Sad and ashamed
so ready for my happy ending
Weary of living here with your lies
Talking but
not saying much
Just a little green
The color when Spring is born
Some rules are bent
These are broken
The time for poetry
is for the young
Some rules are bent
You're fragile
Were all just
mere mortals
things of sky and air
But the bells already
have been rung
and it cannot be unrung
out in the dark
among the stars

You’re eyes are silver a haunting memory
Of something that was good
Breath
Mingles and hangs in the air
