~Interchangeable~
I thought
you'd be
older, but
then again,
maturity is
just experience
wrapped in
wrinkles
trying not
to camouflage
good qualities
trying to
take a
beat, take
a breath
treading water
at this
tremulous and
turbulent pool
but I don't
know how
to swim
there is
some element
of risk
living your
dreams
but I
won't be
afraid of
change, I
want to
hear every
interchangeable melody
pulling myself
from the
shadows to let
thing's shine
you can't
demand change
you have
to inspire
it

~Truth~
truth has
a weird way
of making
you run into
it
and facing
it head on
I hate
the term
straight, I
just assume
everything else
is bent
when life
gives you
sour, have
the patience
to wait
for the
sweet relief
I think
it's coming
amid the
dreaming disarray
this jelly
donut
falls like
rain on
the white
tablecloth like
fire tears
sins dissolve
too slowly

Black Hole
rushing, waiting
it goes
by like
pictures you
leave behind
hiding out
in the
wide open
but still
I can't touch the
sky, feeling
like a
bird in
a storm
searing the
tears of
streets, sleepy
eyes in
the morning
holding coffee
cups close
with the
growing light
coming on
like an
angel on
my chest
yawning a
rose gold sunrise
thinking about
the past
anymore, it's
like a
black hole
I don't
want to
get to
get pulled
back in
they say
fire is
time that
burns, fake
flowers on
windowsills, what
a shame
all I
have to
do is
wait for
the right
moment to
see where
it goes
spring up
higher then
they do
don't settle
for that
path with
the least
resistance
I'm waking
up breaking
myself in
like an
cracked and
worn shoe
time and
moonlight
are both
reflective to the
bendable experience

~Missing~
it's funny
how the
simple
things can
mean the
most
in this life
you give
away
sacrifice of
a wordless
scream
shaping, reshaping
the after glow
of your
touch a
glance
is all
it takes
it breaks
like the
softest wave
of water
all that
is left
are shadows
and curves
watching
years unfurl
like the
flowers
where I
first met
you
it's here
but then
it's gone
just as
fast
everything can
change no
matter
how much
you
try
to hold
on
see,s like
I'm always
looking for
a missing
piece, trying
to get
back to
where the
wind drops
the sun
burns the
moon
and
then it
starts and
ends again
the stars
are scattered
but still turn
my secret
in the
black opal sky
~Sarah Mahina Calvello
~Sugar-blue~
sugar-blue eyes
velvet-soft flowers
stay with
me awhile
welcome to
wherever you are
wine lit
with sun shadows
I would
like to
pretend to
forget this
insecurity
the thick
juice of
a peach
drips away
onto the wall
that has
to be climbed
I wonder
why eternity
feels so
short as
soon
as it begins,
it's over
never say
goodbye, goodbye
means forgetting
some people can
go invisible
right before
your eyes
some people
don't realize
how lonely it
is not to
be seen
I thought
time would
pick up
where I
left it
but it
just kept
rolling on
without me
like scattered pebbles
trying to grasp
onto something
