~Violets~

Waking up
From a deep sleep
Like breakin through
The surface
Of a lake
Bubbles tickling
In their airy dance
Around me

It was easy
So easy
To unmask
The illusion

Some people
Create their own storms
And get mad
At the rain

Getting used to
Breaking and mending
A weaving dance
With no meaning
And no heart

I've been
On the edge
Of dreaming
In the heavy heat
You can cut
With a knife

It won’t slow you down
If you start
Listening
Stop,
don’t ever
promise
if you can’t deliver,
Because that
is my pet hate
The way I see it
is tough times call for two things,
a positive attitude
and someone to talk to

My guess
is that it’s pretty
much the same,
the important things
don’t change
Life's for living,
take the reins,
but no one said
it was easy
Were all
shrinking violets
at first
But a plan is only
a thing that makes
us feel we're in control
Is there a chance
you’ll change
your mind?
Or are we all
ashes in white
it’s warm
real
Bright
The world
has shifted
Now that
I’ve seen you
Sometimes good
intentions
don’t turn out so well
Just cause
I’m not
living the same
hand dealt to you
doesn’t make
me any less
than you

I know you
We have
Same eyes

~Ocean~

Why do problems
Seem so much
Bigger at night?
Silence
Dark shadows bounce
Some things
You don’t
Even tell
People you care about
Some things
Have their limits

The ocean
Breathes salty
We all
Need more
Vitamin C
See how
The waves
Roll and toll
Pushing against
Each other
In pleasant
Disagreement

The jasmine
Purple and translucent
In the moonlight
Alive
Alone
How big
It all
Is
Despite
The mess
and noise

Not many
people would
lift you up
by the hand
if they don’t
know you
link arms,
you want to
get to know
the people
who care
Like that

Inside out
And upside down
It’s good
To see you
looking so well
completely peaceful
How big
the world really is

an accident
waiting to happen
a piece of glass
left in a beach
Saltwater kisses
Empty crevices
Of ghosts
Dirty rain
A place
Where the wind
Calls
Your name

Deeper
I spin
Into
The chaos
Ivory Sand
Again my skin

I know
You won’t
Let me down
I’m already standing
On the ground

white rose
The doors you open
I just can't close
I miss you
More then
You know

~Waiting~

Waiting
And open
In the sun
A white hot day
Lazy haze

Stars of lemon
Sign and fade
Trembling and stretching
In the broken shadows

You put
A sprig of jasmine
In my hair
Asking
If it’s ok
I said
Yes, I love
Flowers in my hair

I should
Have added
Even if it
A racist flower
To make you laugh
Confederate jasmine
Clean
Precise

You’re only
as older as you look,
I feel older than I look.
You said your mom
used to
put purple jasmine
under your pillow
so that you sleep
with perfumed moonlight
And happiness

I forgot
to tell you
my dad would
put purple roses
in my books,
To see me smile

the rose
was called Blue Girl
timid and graceful
impatient and twisting
in a trembling shadow
in the pale light

blushing and soft
tea roses
to warm up
our dark corners

fingers tremble
on velvet perfume
starry blooms
leaving a
periwinkle stain
violet and pale

no longer a wonderer
you have to really accept my flowers
you have to really see me
if you act like you belong
no one will question you

the Blue Girls
are violet and blue
sighing twinkling lights
you only want enough clarity
To trigger the vividness

~Stars, version 2~

~Stars~

"When he tried change for the first time, he said come quick, I've    tasted the stars. Ya, I think were gonna need more of this. Coming up,   we've bottled all the stars for you."~The Fault in Our Stars

 that’s the thing about pain
 it demands to be felt
 Finally feeling
 the moment
 Opening eyes
 see the rise and fall
 of all the days

 so taste the stars
 with me
 feel the velvety brightness
 honey-thick
 on your tongue
 close your eyes
and try not not to care
for as long as you can

 if you want the rainbow
you have to deal with the rain
 the good and bad times

the spread out sun on a pavement
and a cup of tea
is all I need this time
the stars
are our ugly and beautiful
memories
I’m seeing
Stars
