~Hope~

I’ve been thinking
More lately
Looking out into
The shadowed
Rainy
Trees
Shimmering
Soft
And airy
Like summer
Coming to an end

How hope
Suddenly
Shimmers out
And you stop thinking
About it anymore

Two crows
Land on the tree
beside me
Rubbing their beaks
Against the bare tan branch
Jagged leaves blend jade
Into their charcoal feathers
And hanging moss
Unrelenting
Unmoving

The rain
Is haunting
And I wonder
why people
Don’t smile
Anymore

Whatever
makes you feel bad
there has to be a balance of something good
You have to venture alone into
This  unknown night
terrible and wonderful
at the same time

White roses line the way
you can't run from consequence
