Awake
by Sarah Calvello
“Who looks outside dreams; who looks inside awakes.” ― Carl Jung
awake
only partly
drifting on the edge
I can't forget you
I've been waiting
the pale sun
blows cold
plays in rainbows
through my window
inside dreams
like the edge of an echo
a break
in the cool chaos
leaves on the tree
reach out
like dark, trembling fingers
when you drink too much of the sun
all you get are trees
