Appeal

Give light, and the darkness will disappear of itself"

- Desiderius Erasmus

I have to say
what I feel
Something
with appeal
To feel
Something
Again

I feel like
magenta,
all kinds of feelings
stumbling
over themselves.
You're not quite blue,
you're not yellow,
you're magenta

Thank you
for being
a friend
to walk down
this unknowing road
with me
Warming
My hands

I do like surprises
Spontaneity can be fun
Spanish carnations
Spicy and familiar
The streets aren’t
paved with gold
as far as I know
Appeal
To the
Senses
Don’t be
An Afterimage

Passing dreams
Doorway
After
Doorway
Standing
Alone
And crucial
In the
Hours
Between dawns

Lean in
looking inward
outward
Something
About the
Way you’re
Smiling

Before
And after
Like melting
Softness
Quiets the
Tingling
Night
Don’t fall
From me

this illusion
of some safety
to be found
This illusion
Of safety
That will
Never change

Afraid
That
It won’t
Remain
when we are loved
we are afraid
our words will not be heard
or welcomed
but when we are silent
we are still afraid

So
it is better to speak
I want you
To remember
Looking up
At me
Not looking
down
Just took
A moment
To see
Past that
Front door

Sometime it all gets a little too much
but the fog
will clear up
Just casting
Shadodows

Got so much
To lose
Let it
Scatter
On the ground

Feel like we are
Rolling through
the motions
everyday
Wanting
The unnamed

I know
What blank
Feels

like
