Perfect Illusion

I woke up
It was raining
It was falling hard
Making the sunlight
Translucent
A silver sheet
In motion

It could have still been a dream
So I went back to sleep
The perfect
Illusion
You want
To keep

Godspeed, sister,
there and back again
Certainty is fleeting,
that is why we must have faith
But it’s hard
To find what
Reasons
I should believe
You give me what you can,
I give you what I can,
and we are  made whole by it.
I ask no more than that
with a presence
as changeable
as the weather
perfection is never smooth,
An unpolished
Stone

perfection is kindness
you give to others
I hear you telling me
A whisper
A memory
Against my skin
You will feel better than that
Will I?
Yes,
you just keep living
until you feel alive again

I’ll be a footstep away,
that’s all
I bow down to pray
I try to make the worst seem better
show me the way
To cut through

This stormy weather
Head stuck in a cycle,
Stuck in a dream,
but completely aware
It's easy
to be miserable
Being happy
takes more work
Veni, vidi, velcro - I came, I saw, I stuck.

Blue cornflowers
bent grass
I just need one good one
Be careful
Or you might
Say something
You actually mean

So rest it well
Lay your head
Until you see it
My friend
