roses and lilies
for my birthday
leaves curling around each other
in unopened tears
I don’t know how to talk to you
anymore
it hurts
not knowing
what to feel
even a smile
can lie
I think we found
a new way
to fall apart
there are
scars
it took so long
just to feel alright
like I
lost
something
I can’t replace
I remember
looking at you
with wide eyes
for a minute
my mouth opened
but nothing came out
and now you’re back
you don’t get to me back
all I can promise
is that I’ll try
to fix this
you said we'll take pictures
when you're happier
with a fake laugh
you'll be waiting
the flowers
