~Frosted Moonlight~

By Sarah Mahina Calvello
“Frosted moonlight….”-Lewis Carroll
On the day when
the weight deadens
on your shoulders
and you stumble,
remember me
a snowy morning
frosted moonlight
shivers in icey circles
with your breath
a braid of frost
and felt
mats
of twisted blue flowers
winking and nodding
in the wind
the sky swirls
and shivers
purple and jealous
curves of angels
and lilly sharp
icicles
in the silence
of chaotic dreams
help me to find balance
a flock of colors,
indigo, red, green,
and azure blue
frays
and fades
come to awaken you in
a stain of ocean
blackens beneath you,
a path of yellow moonlight
to bring you safely home.
coils of our breath
in a lonely hug
let me borrow
some warmth from you
and turn ice to fire
secret ghosts
of memory
frosted moonlight
to lead you safely home
