~bare~

sunshine
slowly cooling
I’m awake
but I feel like
I’m deep sleep
dreaming

I want to hold
onto
something real

this
Is me
with
my bare tree
exposed
my leaves
shaken off
along the way

really
see
The colors
hidden underneath
burning the
ground

the roots
need air
they curl
and unfurl
stay on
The moonlit side

your
not
there
but you are

excited
nervous
attention slides
over my
surface
too
many alone
busy people
around me

I’d rather light a candle
than curse the darkness
slow down, find the gap
the loveliness
of an ordinary moment
In the moment I’ll be with you
but it will be a different kind
the disease of the mind
is to set mind against mind

I break from the crowd
don’t tell me
I’m out of touch
with  your rampant chaos
your reality

treading
a line
it's just
discord
and rhyme
drinking
juices
and wine
you can’t
fight

the night

electric

want to light it now
give it one more day
you told me that even sugar
melts in the rain
and it's just another
moonlight mile
down the road
when the sky is painted
in electric paint
colors are icy
sugar swirls
first
comes stress
then comes worry
to haunt me

close your eyes
the air
is alive
and the sky
is burning
and liquid
with all
the hidden colors
in the world

everything
is shimmering

running
into shadows
and corners
to no avail

time
to break
the chain
Make the most
of your
minutes
escape
the soft
lonliness

~Start When You are~

It was a day
Where
Everything was gray
The trees
Looked
like they were melting
Running
Into each other
into each other
like liquid ink

wind
shook
the black leaves

everything smells
so good
like sandalwood
and salty dreams
like something new
just about
to start

where you can hear
water and wind
before you
you
leave me
in the
quiet
lost in thoughts
and busyness

sometimes
I feel
like I’m losing myself
I'm excited
and a little nervous,
cautiously optimistic
I’d rather light a candle
than curse the darkness
slow down
there is a gap
between my thoughts
where there is still
a sense of wonder
hold onto that
because you can never
get it back
discover the loveliness
of an ordinary moment
you’ve been taken
from pillar to pillar
so that it’s almost bearable

the rosy advice you disperse
with pear shaped tones
because if you haven’t tried
you haven’t lived
I want you to get swept away
I want you to sing like the devil
and dance like a dervish
there is not an ounce of excitement,
a whisper of it thrill
time to
get it back
start where you are

~Comma~

a comma goes
where you breathe
slow
white circles
in the shimmering
air
the hardest part about going forward
is not looking back

you know the thing about being lost?
you can be lost anywhere
the thing about rain
Is that the sun always goes through

for you it’s love
that can make you whole
or can unhinge you entirely

a red apple tastes like
it’s been boiled in water
for too long
now I realize
I was running away
from things
as much as I was running towards them

fantasy is shallow
from here to the moon and back,
who else is going to love you like that?
when you don’t fit into a box,
the answer isn’t trying to squeeze
tighter into the box
you build a bigger box.

The only way out is through
quiet
and crystalline
it had frozen into
an opaque stillness
the burning angels
have returned
there is the reason this is happening
it's like an alarm is going off
and you can't turn it off
you spoke a lot of words
I don’t know
If you spoke the truth

~Escape~

It had frozen
into an opaque stillness
The watercolor
Leaves
Stained glass
Feathers
Fall
Making
The world
Marbled

Fading into browns and greens
Winding
Onto
One another
In a ribboned
hug

Shiver
With a fading wind
And morning dew
When the time comes
Escape

Our breath
Mingles
And hangs
In the air
In silver
Spirals
Fading
Too soon
Too vague
And disappearing
Too soon
Like
Your words

If you want to see the forest
you have to look past the trees
Learn
to hope
Again

This stone
World
Quiet
And crystalline
Seemed defaced
And all that's left
Is shadows

And a glowing nothingness
