~Unexpected~

exquisite dryness
releasing juices
all from
a onion
from underneath
yellow paper
skin

focus consciousness
woven with
fate, cut
the thread
set thing's
in motion

whimsy is
seductive
especially to
young minds

enabled to
see your
shape, humbles
my heart
when you
say goodbye

under the
silver moon
maybe you were
right
maybe I
was lonely
alone with
stardust and memories

you'll never
know if
you don't
know by
now

my sunlight
and my moonlight
you are
in unexpected
ways

~Sarah Mahina Calvello

~Satilite~

a white
star fires
falling in
suspended motion
giving itself
to dark
trees and
cold empty

frozen in
your place
don't let
the moment
slip away

your looking for
answers but
they're not
looking for
you

it doesn't
make narrative
sense flickering
past edges
of distant
memory deja-vu

it's only
pieces of
the night
that give
you comfort
you can touch
suspended cold

slow trance
airy water
drops forever

no matter
how distant
it's alive
a trembling
frequency
somewhere out
there out
of sight

words that
would melt
your heart
hanging like
a wall of
stars

you are
my statilite
that's when
you can
hold me
come back
to my outstretched
arm's

~Sarah Mahina Calvello

~Unquantifyable~

all the
secrets of
my ocean
can be held
in one
drop of
water

everywhere, nowhere,
but mostly everywhere,
midnight's creeping
 in with
it's long
shadows and murmurs

just thinking
of all the
reasons not
to jump
but what about
the reasons
to jump?

intoxicated, someday
we'll get
to live
our lives out loud

a moment
of truth
in fear
and everyday lies
stuck in
your head
like an
old song
stuck on
repeat
gets under
your skin

suspended in
place, love
is unqauntifyable
 he electricity
unseen between
when our
eyes meet
unspoken headlock

~Imagination~

~To Jill and her plums

who is
your hatter?
because mine
went mad
if I
didn't have
to jam
a strawberry
I would have
gone with
you

the world
offers itself
to imagination
and a
cup of
sunlit tea

sometimes you
have to
wreak it
in order
to save it

everyone knows
that the
future tastes
like a
freshly picked
apple pungent
plums flower
and fall
cold and full
on the
ground

everyone is
dealing with
something you
just have
to love
people for
who they
are and hope
they love
you back

there is
nothing stronger
then a
normal person
removed from
fake reality

~Pinnacle~

I'm torn
but aso
so warm
changes can
be good
too erosion
doesn't happen
in an instant

it's great
that were
both standing
on a
pinnacle of
something

all we
can do
is try
to surpass the
winding roads

observation is
the backbone
of everything

under the
milky twilight
spinning my
wheels but
sometimes even
your dreams
are unexpected

~Sarah Mahina Calvello~

~Embrace~

feel it
inside of
your bones
no more sinking
heart s whispered
and folding into
the corners
of cushions

your not
what you
were so
what are
you waiting for?

it's all
in a
new day
time to
embrace let
the colors
bleed into
the traces
of grace
I left
for you
the footsteps
that leave
a breathing hue

breathe in
and out
just let
it out
don't go
looking for
easy answers

just more
broken souls
that used
to shine

there's a
certain order
and beauty
orbits and patterns
that's been
here before

stars that
still hold
wide eyed
wonder
truth and fear

the course
I chart
is set in motion
even though
I don't see
it yet

the great
twilight checkered
failures turn
into victories
self-exposed
and accepting

~Sarah Mahina Calvello~

~Apple~

your somewhere
and nowhere
at the same
time

let it go
it's actually
very brave
what were
doing trying
to figure it
all out
again

life moves
pretty fast
if you
don't slow
down once
in awhile
miss it

amid the
many colors
burnt and worn
scattered leaves
that fall
like over ripe
fruit
apple is
the color
of success

everything around
us is
the past
even the
sunlight is
five minutes old
the space
between
a breath

ignite  something
in me
show me
the map
of what I'm
meant to do

no time
for distractions
I knew
where to
look

you know
sometimes looking
as far
away as
we can
is just
a way to
ignore what's
in front
of us

so we
just see
the brightest star
there is
still
wonder
